In response to the city’s growing educational needs following its conversion into a component city, the Department of Education – Regional Office IV-A (CALABARZON) and the City Government of Carmona strengthened their collaboration to establish an independent schools division for the city. On January 7, 2025, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and Deed of Usufruct were formally signed between the Department of Education Regional Office IV-A, represented by Regional Director Atty. Alberto T. Escobarte, and the City Government of Carmona, represented by City Mayor Dahlia A. Loyola. The signing ceremony, held at the City Hall Penthouse, signified the commitment of both institutions to support the establishment of the Schools Division Office (SDO) of the City of Carmona and to provide the necessary facilities and resources necessary for its operation.

Following the institutional preparations, the Schools Division Office of Carmona City was formally launched on October 30, 2025, during a ceremonial event held at the Benjamin B. Loyola Social Hall, Carmona Elementary School. The event also marked the installation of the first division officials, with Dr. Joepi F. Falqueza installed as Officer-in-Charge Schools Division Superintendent (OIC-SDS) and Dr. Wilson G. Centeno as Assistant Schools Division Superintendent (ASDS). The installation was led by Department of Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” M. Angara and Congressman Roy M. Loyola, Representative of the 5th District of Cavite, and City Mayor Dahlia A. Loyola, highlighting the strong support of both the national government and local leadership in strengthening the city’s education system.

The establishment of the City Schools Division Office of Carmona enabled more responsive educational governance, improved supervision and support for schools, and strengthened collaboration among the Department of Education, the City Government of Carmona, community organizations, and other stakeholders. Through localized leadership and strategic planning, the division is able to effectively implement programs and initiatives aligned with the national goals of the Department of Education while addressing the specific needs of learners across the city’s eleven (11) public schools, comprising nine (9) elementary schools, one (1) stand-alone junior high school, and one (1) senior high school.

Today, the City Schools Division Office of Carmona City plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of quality, accessible, relevant, and inclusive basic education. Guided by strong leadership, dedicated educators, and active partnerships with the local government and community stakeholders, DepEd Carmona continues to support the academic growth and holistic development of learners while contributing to the overall progress of the city. Anchored on its guiding mantra, “Sa Smart City Division of Carmona, Laging Care Muna,” the division upholds a culture of commitment, accountability, responsiveness, and excellence in serving every learner and stakeholder in the City of Carmona.
